Cindys Haircuts & Natures Gifts

this is the first blog I have ever written.  I have always liked to write so this will be fun for me.  I wasn't sure how to start my first blog so I will just tell you a little bit about me.  I have been married to a wonderful man for over 18 years now.  We have two daughters that are heading into teen-age years.  We also have 2 dogs.  Lilly is 5 and Chipper is 4.  I am a hairstylist.  I have been doing this for 18 years or more.  I love to cut hair and style it.  I always have.  I started out as a young child on my Barbie dolls' hair.  I wanted to perfect that "Farrah Fawcett" layered look on the dolls.  They didn't quite look like that when I was done though!
I grew up in Southern California, was born there.  We moved to Central Oregon in July of 2009.  We were ready for a change of pace and scenery.  There is so much to offer in Oregon.
The gift or craft side of my business came about when my kids were young and my mom had just retired.  We both wanted something to do.  My dad was a rock hound and had gotten into lapidary.  He was making belt buckles for his friends.  He gave so many away that we told him we would start a business and sell them for him.  That was about 6 years ago.  He still works on rocks and my parents go out together hunting for them.
I always thought it would be so neat to own a small salon with one chair and station for me to work at and have a gift area too.  I came  upon an opportunity in spring of 2010 to rent a space that offered just that.  So that is how my business "Cindy's Haircuts & Nature's Gifts" was born.

Cindy...Since I met you in 6th grade, you have always been business minded and creative. You are a wonderful person, too! I am so happy for you, and all you have accomplished.
